Stone is a market town in Staffordshire situated roughly halfway between Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent, sitting within the valley of the River Trent. It’s a place that has long been defined by its geography; it historically served as a vital coaching stop on the road between London and the North-West, and later became a hub for the brewing industry due to the Thomas Telford-designed Trent and Mersey Canal which cuts right through the town center. Today, the canal remains its focal point, with the Westbridge Park area and the local marina providing a lot of the town’s green space and character. The High Street is mostly pedestrianised and hosts a long-standing monthly farmers’ market, while the town's railway station provides direct links towards London Euston and Crewe. It has a settled, established feel, where the proximity to the M6 and the West Coast Main Line makes it practical for commuting, yet it remains firmly tucked into the North Staffordshire countryside.
