Southam is a small market town in Warksire, positioned roughly halfway between Leamington Spa and Daventry. It sits on the River Stowe and serves as a natural hub for the many smaller villages that surround it. Historically, the town grew as an important stop on the stagecoach routes between London and the industrial north, a legacy still visible in the architecture of the old coaching inns nestled along the high street. Today, the town is defined by a mix of traditional blue lias stone buildings and more modern developments, supported by a range of independent shops and a local leisure centre. Its location is practical for those working across the Midlands, as it is bounded by the A423 and A426, providing straightforward road links to Coventry, Banbury, and the M40. Despite its growth, it retains a distinct rural character, with the surrounding landscape marked by the rolling hills of the Ironstone Fringe.
